Song Formats
Songs on this site are available in a choice of 2 formats:
- MP3: better sound quality, but takes much longer to
start playing if you leftclick the link.
- RealAudio: lower quality and there may be pauses
during playback but it starts faster - may be useful as a taster to
help decide whether you wish to download the MP3 version.
NB: requires RealPlayer G2 or later, and on this site you cannot fast forward RealAudio in real time.
To hear the songs on this site, you need player software.
Player Software
For your convenience, below are links to some sites offering free player software or further information on music over the Internet (these sites are not associated with Quanmusic in any way, and linking to them does not mean that they endorse Quanmusic).
RealAudio - Real.com (you have to hunt on the site for the free player as prominence is naturally given to the commercial version; the free basic version is currently called RealOne Player).
MP3 - RealPlayer from Real.com will play MP3 files. Also try Nullsoft's Winamp (Windows PCs). For links to players for Macs as well as PCs, try e.g. MP3daze.
Once you have the right player software, you can:
- Play a song live: click the link to the
song - or rightclick the link and choose Open.
NB: this may mean a LONG wait if it's MP3, so it's best to do this with the RealAudio links only
- Download it to save on your computer: rightclick the link and choose Save instead and, once it's saved (which may again take a while), play it from there with your player software.
